Check Your 6! Resources

I have revamped this list to provide resources that I personally use.
  • Arcus Hobby Colors - Some country specific paints offered at reasonable prices.
  • Aviation & Military Book Centre - Carries a huge selection of aviation titles.
  • Bravo Bravo Aviation - Color aircraft profiles.
  • Deep Cut Studio - customized gaming mats. Great quality and good customer service.
  • Flight Deck Decals - Decals and 3D printed aircraft in 1/300 and 1/200 scales with an ever growing offering of 1/285. The decal offerings are exhaustive and the material used for printed planes is simply amazing.
  • GHQ - High quality but ridiculously priced 1/285 scale, but within the aircraft listings there are some reasonably priced decals.
  • Helion and Company - numerous titles across a wide variety of topics.
  • Heroics & Ros - A rather older 1/300 range, but they offer a decent variety of aircraft at affordable prices.
  • I-94 Enterprises - Raiden 1/285 scale places, along with Check Your 6! rules, stands, Fight's On accessories, etc.
  • Miscellaneous Miniatures - Decals and more. Very good service as well.
  • MSD Games - 1/300 scale. Same Collectair range as Scotia Grendel.
  • Scale Hobbyist - My go to place for Vallejo paints, at discounted prices.
  • Sieben Schwaben Spiele Decals - Quality 1/200 and 1/144 scale decals, but the owners will scale to 1/285 upon request.
  • Skirmish Campaigns - publishers of Check Your 6!
  • Sprue Brothers Models - Along with all sorts of models and modeling items, they carry a decent inventory of aviation titles.
  • Table Top Flights - 1/285 scale aircraft of fantastic quality and good service.
  • Topside Minis - One used to be able to buy individual topside images of ships, but now they have gone to a full fleet methodology. Makes for an easy way to add ships to scenarios without having to purchase and paint miniatures.
  • Woodpecker Games - I tried their flight bases from their Dockfighter: The Ale Wars range. Speed indicator and magnetic posts to indicate TAL and colored rings to either use for aircrew quality or to differentiate between aircraft. A bit fiddly as the posts wobble. Might work better with the lighter 3D printed planes.

  1. Hi,
In your list of supliers above. You wrote that GHQ offers 'ridiculously priced 1/285 scale models' In GHQ's defense they have outstanding models. Their models of modern aircraft consistently have extra ordinance, if the prototype came with any. They often have enough that one can get one or two 'other guys' models loaded out with some missiles or bombs.
Their models, I've never seen one cast with a funny shaped nose or misshaped wings, are very accurate. considering the scale. If the prototype has/had swing wings, GHQ's model will often include parts to create the model with wings swept in or out, for the modeler to decide which way they want the wings set. Anyway I appreciate your blog and your work on it thank you.

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the blog. I still think that GHQ is ridiculously priced though. I can obtain the same quality, with ordnance such as rockets and bombs, from Flight Deck Decals, for less than $3.00 for a 1/285th scale fighter (resin print). I can also obtain pretty darn good metal castings from Raiden for $3.00 for a WWII fighter, not perfect, but darn good. I do agree, GHQ's quality is top notch, but why are they charging $7.00 for a metal fighter when others can offer them for less than half?
